These one-day courses are the hands-on training portion for an International Offshore Safety at Sea certificate. Prior to the start you will need to:
A) Complete an Offshore Safety at Sea course within the last year (such as MTAM’s one-day course at the Naval Academy on March 28, 2025).

B) Complete the online Offshore Safety course (units 1-15) available through US Sailing. For details CLICK HERE.
Be sure to check the Notice of Race to verify which certificate is required if you are signing up in order to qualify for a regatta. Slots are limited. If you have questions about various pathways to obtaining International Offshore Certification contact US Sailing.

Check-in for all courses begins at approximately 7:30 at the Maritime Institute of Technology & Graduate Studies, located at 692 Maritime Boulevard, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090. The facility has a hotel on-site with reasonable prices that includes breakfast and dinner, as well as complimentary transportation to BWI airport and rail station.
