As a member, you are represented on marine trades issues before the Maryland legislature, as well as with State and Federal agencies. The MTAM staff and the Association’s Lobbyist, John Stierhoff, introduce and monitor all legislative activities. Government officials are notified of the marine industry’s position on various issues prior to the development of laws and regulations. See some of our legislative milestones here.

Your company will also receive a free category listing in the Annual Guide to Marine Services. Thousands of these books are printed each September and distributed at Boat Shows, Trade Shows, Maryland Tourism locations and through our member marinas. Membership also grants you listings on the MTAM website where customers can find you by business name and service type.

With a grant from EARN Maryland (Employment Advancement Right Now), our partners are part of growing sustainable jobs through effective recruiting initiatives. MTAM offers group training, matching funds for training incumbent workers, and our summer on-the-job training opportunities. We match workers to immediate job openings and train-the-trainer sessions for the employers.
