MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Job Description

VETUS Maxwell, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative marine product solutions throughout North and South America, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with prior experience to join the VETUS Maxwell Team in the Hanover, MD office. This person will work directly with customers, sales managers, engineers and customer service on technical marine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic projects.

VETUS Maxwell, Inc., based in Hanover, MD, manufactures and distributes a wide range of marine products, including bow thrusters, hatches, windows, ventilation products, and exhaust components, as well as a full range of windlasses and anchoring solutions.

The majority of research and development is conducted in Europe and Asia Pacific but the right candidate will be in charge of U.S customer specific customization (if required) and customer guidance on installation and system integration. Responsibilities would be (co)development and/or customization and testing of mechanical systems and devices. Helping customers with installation drawings and building project libraries together with our worldwide team. As well as providing technical support for customers after the sale along with Quality Assurance.

Experience with electrotechnical schematics software such as EPLAN this will be an added benefit.

The successful candidate will.

• Provide customization and (co) development of mechanical systems, components, and devices.
• Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures.
• Create detailed schematics using CAD (SolidWorks).
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry codes and standards. In cooperation with the international team.
• Collaborate with those cross-functional teams to bring projects from concept to completion.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency in CAD software preferably SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis on mechanical failures.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
