Marine Travel Lift Operator & Yard Team Lead

Job Description

Fairwinds Marina is seeking an experienced marine equipment operator to lead our Yard Team. As yard manager, you would be responsible for coordinating and supervising the yard, as well as maintaining a clean and organized boatyard and operable equipment.

Responsibilities:

* Managing and coordinating the yard – hauling & launching boats with marine travel lift, place boats in the yard and work with Marina Manager to maintain a master plan/chart showing location for fall haul out and spring launch in logical sequence

* Supervising and training yard staff to work safely and learn to perform various tasks as assigned

* Responsible for dock maintenance; ensure repairs are done (as required, e.g. lighting, plumbing, planks, etc.)

* Maintain an organized and professional yard

* Monitor and maintain an inventory of yard supplies

* Perform general maintenance at the facility including small repairs, lawn maintenance, and dock maintenance

* Safe operation of company vehicles, equipment, and trailers

* Boat maintenance: painting, waxing, shrink-wrap, fueling boats

* Boat trailering, operation, and cleaning

* Assist with setup of boat shows and other off-site promotion as needed

Qualifications:

* Minimum of two years related yard maintenance management experience

* Experience working in marina

* Heavy equipment experience required

* Boat trailering experience preferred

* Boat Travel Lift experience preferred

* Ability to lift 30+ pounds

* Works well in a fast paced work environment

* Be punctual and work as scheduled

* Strong administrative and organizational skills

* Able to follow through on projects and required daily tasks

* Decision-making skills

* Customer Service experience preferred

Weekend availability required. Compensation commensurate with experience.
