Work Responsibilities

Work on yachts at marinas and boatyards, and sometimes at the top of a mast, as a Sailboat Rigger. Complete hardware installs, step and unstep masts, and work in the shop splicing ropes, servicing hydraulics and winch systems, and fabricating carbon fiber components.

On the Job Training

The Marine Trades Industry Partnership is a paid, on-the-job training program for young workers starting their career. The ideal candidate is 18 to 24 with a strong desire to succeed and work around boats and water. Candidates will gain confidence from learning their trade, security from knowing their skill cannot be outsourced, and motivation from excellent pay and upward mobility.
