Work Responsibilities

As a Marine Carpenter, you’ll bring a working knowledge of the materials and tools used to create cabinetry, trim, and faceplates for the interior of a boat. This includes wood types, fasteners, adhesives, planners, saws, routers, and finishes, as well as the ability to use joinery techniques to assemble these elements.

On the Job Training

The Marine Trades Industry Partnership is a paid, on-the-job training program for young workers starting their career. The ideal candidate is 18 to 24 with a strong desire to succeed and work around boats and water. Candidates will gain confidence from learning their trade, security from knowing their skill cannot be outsourced, and motivation from excellent pay and upward mobility.
