Marina Dock Master/Maintenance Manager
Location – Bohemia Bay Yacht Harbour – Chesapeake City, MD 21915
Reports directly to the General Manger and assists the General Manager with all aspects of the Marina operation to ensure the smooth, efficient and professional operation of the Marina Facilities, the Marina Slips, the Marina Store and Marina Fuel Dock for the purpose of achieving maximum occupancy and revenue, while providing the highest possible level of customer service.
Essential to this position is the ability to work weekends. You will also be great at multi-tasking, have high attention to detail, be a great team player and possess proven exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a ‘can do attitude’.
The Dockmaster will be will be the primary point of customer contact directly interacting with the boating customers on a constant basis, this key front end role in the marina also includes assisting the General Manager as needed, and taking on the lead supervisory role in absence of the General Manager. The Dockmaster will be an outgoing, energetic, conscientious detail oriented person who will consistently be able to demonstrate strong community building skills with emphasis on customer service and follow up.
Minimum Required Skills:
Graduation from high school or equivalent, six months of experience in a position dealing with the public, some knowledge of a marina or recreational boating operation and two years experience in a marina operation or an equivalent combination of training and experience to provide the required skills, knowledge, and abilities to complete the job responsibilities and possession of a valid Maryland or neighboring state driver’s license.
In addition, a college degree in hospitality or business management and or certification from accredited marina training institution. Consideration will be given to applicants with three to five years’ equivalent experience in lieu of a college degree, honorably discharged from the U.S. Coast Guard and or U.S. Navy or other military service; Applicants should have at least three years of experience working in a large marina with at least two years of property management experience. Additional requirements include excellent oral and written communications with the ability to lead and motivate staff. Excellent organization skills are a must.
